Golf mk1 carburetor dims lights when the fan turns on

Good day

My name is MLAZA I own a golf mk1 1.6 carburetor. I began to notice that my golf dims lights when the fan turns on and sometimes it idles very low. From there it began not to start because of low battery .please help guys

Have you measured the voltage from the alternator?
If so, what is the voltage going back to the battery?

What is the age of your battery?
Have you tested it to confirm its holding charge?

Sounds like your voltage regulator might need replacing.
