Hi guys.
First time posting here.
I'm having major issues with a 2006 1.6 Polo.
The car has an intermittend problem when driven in wet weather. It starts stuttering as if it got water in somewhere. But after a while it goes away.
Now on wednesday it started doing it again. No revving past a certain point and hardly any power.
So yesterday I checked all the sensor plugs for moisture.
Couldn't find anything. For good measure I sprayed some lubricant on the plugs and made sure all were dry before reconnecting. I found that the 2 bottom plug wires on the coil pack were corroded so I cleaned that up too.
Now the car doesn't want to rev up at all and idles erratically.
If you press the accelerator it will rev up a bit and then stutter and die.
I'm at my wits end here.
I know I should take the car in to have the error identified but it is going to be a shlep towing it and I would rather pick the brains of the experts here first.
I hope someone can help me.

Re: Polo 1.6 engine problem
your spark plug wire might be weak.
