Dear All
A passenger wound down my left rear window and now it is not closing fully. I have taken out the window mechanism and replaced it with one from Goldwagen but the window still did not close completely so I put the original back in. I have also adjusted the 2 bolts that connect the window to the window rail but the window still does not close completely.
The only other issue that may be the cause is the window rail/guide which is rusted and and has expanded from the rubber that "glues" the window to the rail. Are there anything else I can check for? Can the window rail/guide be replaced and if so, do I take it to a PG Glass etc?
Many thanks in advance.
Your advice please - rear window not closing fully (Jetta Mk2 CLX)

Hi @Atzala
I also have an issue with my window, I was going to take it to TK Cables in Delarey http://www.tkcables.co.za/ not sure where you are based.
If you do go, give us an update on their services

Hi @JONNO
Thanks for the feedback. I am unfortunately in the Cpt area - I will however order a rail guide from bossautospares and see if it helps. I will give an update in due course

Just to close out this post seeing that this is a common problem - I finally got around to stripping the door. It was the window rail guide that was rusted badly and prevented the window from being wound up fully. Replaced the rail guide and window is closing perfectly. All that remain are the glue and marks from having taped the window closed for the last couple of months

Did you try some turpentine on the glue?

Jip - sanitiser seems to work better when I spot tested it but I have not gotten around to properly cleaning it yet.
