Coolant temperature sensor.

Post by mellos »

Hi

Just a quick question, has anyone with a polo vivo who has a starting problem when it is hot ever solved the problem by fitting a new coolant temperature sensor, I have a strong feeling that we are looking at the wrong component to solve the starting problem

I don't know what the correct one is but VCDS says coolant temperature sensor intermittent fault, replaced it twice now even checked the wiring to it but problem still persists

Do you perhaps have a full description of the fault code or more info on exactly what the car is doing?

When it stays in the sun for too long then it takes a while to start

MY 2009 VW City Golf 14i experience problems to a cold start. When switching on, it starts immediately and the revs are fine. Once you press the petrol pedal, the revs drop. The car miss and has no power. When it is warmed-up no problems are experienced.

Where is the Coolant temperature sensor situated. Should I replace it with a genuine part or after market suppliers. I resides in Pretoria.
