Citi Golf engines

Post by Fiftee »

Is there a difference between the 1.4i or 1.6i you get in the Citi Sport or Citi.com and the ones you get in the Velo,Rox and the Life?

Lol why do people go gaga, myself included, over the Velo,Rox and the Life ? Surely you get the same 74kw or less that you would get in the Velo 1.6i in the Citi Sport 1.6i. Saying or less because I once heard in Tuned in SA that a car loses power the older it gets so I'm guessing most stock 1.6i Citi Velos would likely have an output of 68-70kw depending on how well it was maintained

Condition of motor and how well it is looked after and service intervals contribute a lot to the longivity of these motors. I’ve seen high mileage motors still going strong without any issues or loss of power.

But is there a difference between the 1.6i in the Citi Sport and the 1.6i in the Velociti? Or is it the same engine with the same performance stats

Exactly the same.

The only possible difference would be MPi vs MP9 ECUs

MP9 and MPi are two different engine management systems.
Essentially they both do exactly the same thing, just that MPi sucks hairy donkey balls.

And I would assume the 1.6i Velo, Life and Rox come with MP9 and the Citi Sport 1.6i comes with MPi perhaps that's why most people prefer the Velo apart from its sexy looks

Bosch GMBH makes MP9

MPi is made by Shurlock. These clowns also make Autowatch car alarms. Biggest junk ever
