Hi guys, i noticed that my radiator switch is dead so i made a straight connection so that the fan run continuously. This morning i connected the fan, as i was closing the bonnet the cables touched the body and the engine went off.
Now the car doesn't even want to start or even when put on ACC there's not even one light coming on the cluster.
How can fix this? Please assist.

Re: Golf Mk1 1. 6 TenaCity Power failure
Ok, the battery positive is connected straight to the starter there isn't anything or coil,
The car is basically dead, it doesn't give on, only the head lights working.
Can the power fuse be elsewhere?
There are some normal small fuses on the right had side of the dash (next to the door), could one of those fuses affect the car power?

Re: Golf Mk1 1. 6 TenaCity Power failure
U will find a similar fuse box like the 1 that's by the dash board... but this 1 will be in the engine bay next to the battery and it will have much bigger fuses check all of them and yes check those small 1s also
