vw Polo 2.0 Highline 2005 Gearbox leakage

Hi Guys

I need advise please.Ive got a leakage between the gearbox and engine and also next to the drain nut.
I threw in oil but it just seemed to run empty immediatly after i topped it up.What can that be??

Uhm where did you throw in oil and where did it leak out?

I threw in oil by the gearbox.where i used the 17 allen key socket to loosen the nut.so i used a hosed and funnel.
It leaked out between the gearbox and engine.

Either the GB Input Shaft oil seal needs to be replaced or you have a hole in your GB. Are you 100 percent sure it's gearbox oil leaking and not engine oil? Either way you'll need to separate the GB and engine to see exactly where it's leaking from.

Another thing to keep in mind is if the leaking oil is running onto the clutch , you'll have to replace that as well. Is there any irregularities with the clutch?

Yes it is gearbox oil im 100% sure.the clutch is still fine nothing wrong with that.

Almost sound like a diff rivit fail which I have not seen on those boxes. But yeah pull the box.
