Hi guys I'm new to this forum
So I have a golf 1 1800 8v carb
I want to convert it to throttles
I want a reliable setup all information on how to go about doing it will be much appreciated

The answer to your question is a long one.

Try the search first.

Then find Viper's thread for his track/drag/gymkhana Citi golf.

It's been a while since he's updated it, but should answer most of your questions regarding the 8V with throttles story.

U-flow motor and RSI 20v throttles are common in Durban, sadly they normally make loads less power than stock. This due to bad tuning, hot air, no air filters and no space behind the motor. This mod is like doing crack or tik, seems nice at the time, but bad in the long run.

If induction sounds get your blood pumping, then a cross-flow head is the only way to go if you need some power to go with the noises. Again the search bar is your friend here. Loads of reading on this topic.

Finally ABF on throttles. No explanation needed.

Before you look at all the nice throttle conversions, look at making your car fuel injected first. Get that right and 80% of the job is already done.
