Possible MPI Issues

Hi Guys.

I am having some issues with my 2008 Citi 1.4i

On my way to work this morning, my car randomly starting losing power and wouldn't accelerate smoothly.
starting idling rough like it was running on 3 cylinders.

only work i did to the car recently was change the main feed pipe from the fuel tank to the pump.
and i also added additional cabling to the alternator and an extra earth strap.
Reason for this was when the fan kicks in, the lights would dip a little.
i doubt this is the cause, all my cable connection are still secure.

i also cant scan the car, computer wont connect to the car.

anyone who had issues with MPI, did yours do the same ?
like complete loss of power, car struggling to accelerate ?

can the ignition coil be causing this ? i would assume if it was the coil it would not run at all right ?

any ideas ?

Forgot to mention that a couple of months back the car was revving by itself.

so it would start as normal but the rev to something like 4 or 5K.
i just switched off and disconnected the throttle body plug so that i could drive home.
once i got home i plugged it back and the revving by itself stopped so i never worried about it again.
