Hi Guys
Bit of a concern as of this morning....
On leaving the homestead this morning, I got a scent of petrol eminating from outside the car (while closing the driveway gate) then i noticed fuel droplets coming from just below the rear passenger door behind the driver door.
I bent down to have a look and saw that there seems to be a leak somewhere as quite a large area beneath the fuel tank was wet.
Could it be the in tank fuel pump that is below the back seat? I ask this because since Friday, I've been hearing a buzzing sound continue even after the normal priming sound before starting.
So the buzzing soundas if the pump is working overtime to pump fuel and then the leaking fuel this morning
HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
Thanks
Ahmed

Can be anything including a perished hose. No use guessing . Take the cover off under the seat and look.

I will post a DIY later today, been lazy to post, here is some pics which sounds like what you are experiencing.
If you look at pic 1 & 2 the fuel pump is covered in petrol and this could dangerous if your pump wires are exposed.
You could be facing perished fuel line like Panic is says.

Re: 2009 Citi Rox 1.4i - Fuel Pump Failing
Hope you got it sorted, here is the DIY that I promised:
A clean handbrake cable is a giveaway that you have a perished fuel line.
Buy at least 1m hose sothat you are able to test for leakage before you cut to size, run the line directly from the pump onto the tank, if you do not see this then you are good to run it through the channel.
Jack up the car sothat you are able to access the petrol pump.
Remove the rear seat and open the carpet to expose the cover.
Undo the screws and undo the line from the tank and the pump and remove it.
When you insert the new fuel line insert from the top and guide it with your two fingers, never try and do it from the bottom, you will run out of choice words.
You can now screw the top line
Then cut the side of the pump to size with enough slack.

Re: 2009 Citi Rox 1.4i - Fuel Pump Failing
Winning... Thanks guys
All that was needed was a new pipe and some new clamps. The factory clamps had gotten tired
I didn't get to work high on fumes so I'd say it worked out pretty well
Thanks again
