Citi 1.4 engine misfire

Post by uncivilized »

Howsit guys. I seem to be stuck with my citi 1.4. When I pull out my number 4 lead nothing happened so I decided to overhaul my engine. The bottom half of the engine was fine so I replaced the rings and bearings and sent the head to the engineers. A valve guide was the worn out n replaced by the engineers but after everything was put back together I'm still experiencing the same problem. Advice? I read on one of the posts the guy said he was experiencing misfire on 3 and 4 and did the head but had the same problem and when he changed the lifters the problem stopped. Any other thoughts on this?

Wow did you do any of the basic checks like spark, fuel, compression before just overhauling a motor for a missfire?
Did you chck and change anything like coil leads, distributor cap, spark plug etc.
you also don't say if it is injection or carb. If injection , check the injector and harnass for broken wires.

Thanks for the reply panic. It's a carb and yes I did change the plugs and the leads before doing anything and everything is fine. There is spark on all the leads and all the plugs firing perfectly just don't know why nothing's happening when the car is idling and I pull the number 4 lead out. When I pull out the other leads the rev drops.
