Throttle body

Howzit guys on my 2006 1.4i Mk1 had a idle problem.
I took the throttle body off and cleaned it, after putting it back car didnt want to idle.
Took it off again cleaned it more,car starts perfect.
Sometimes on cold start he does not idle keeps dying, when warmed up he idles.
What did I do wrong and what can I do to solve the issue?

Try a re- calibrate using vcds. If that does not help get another one and don't clean it.

Would cleaning the replacement one not be a better option? Im curious to know why you would say not to clean the replacment one

Because everytime somebody seems to decide to clean one of these things they go faulty. So short of wiping it out with a dry rag don't spray stuff at them to clean it.
