1.4 CITI Golf Sport 2009 - Fuel milage
Hi guys,
I'm new to this...
My car is 120,000kms and it uses half a tank of fuel under 250kms driven.
I suppose the fuel consumption is due to short trips but is this the average milage on these cars?

Welcome to the Forum...
My '08 1.4i Storm with 125k on the clock still gets 700km on a tank, very little highway driving, mostly around town so yours should be the same. My '05 1.4i Velo got the same when it was still stock.

Current rides:
VW Golf - 83 GT 2.1 16V 2-door with throttles
VW Golf - 78 LS 2.0 8V 4-door (2.1 ABF with throttles in progress)
VW Golf - '08 Citi Storm - 1.4 for now
Hyundai - 1.4 Getz (daily)

Thanks guys..
I suppose the next step is for a diagnostic scan. I'm guessing the 02 sensor as the previous owner hardly drove the car and it had alot of dust everywhere. Even on the petrol pump.
I'll do a service and measure from there

500km a tank on a Citi is completely normal. 10 - 14km/l depending on foot heaviness and type of driving...

Hi Wolf...
I'm driving as though, Miss daisy is in the back seat. Not exceeding 2500RPM per gear shift.
I'm currently on about 260Kms with a bar before the reserved red line.
Something with the fuel management system is definitely not on par. Had a Citi Sport 1.8 carb 1991 model and it gave me about 400kms with a full tank. After rebuilding the carb it's about 750kms on a full tank.
Just need to book the car for a scan or get my hands on the OBD2 tool

Thanks for the feedback guys.
Do you have an estimate for the MPI system?
This is possibly, worst case scenario

Hey guys...
I executed the diagnostic tests and nothing came up.
So I revert back to something, my big bro tends to say...
"Drive the car like Schumacher, till it breaks, then only, you have a problem".
After giving this cab a hiding. It appears that by some miracle, it's not consuming as much before.
Guess everything in life needs a hiding before obeying
