Accelerator goes to the floor

Hi Guys,

I hope someone here can assist me please.

My mums polo 1.4 2013 is acting wierd. Randomly the accelerator just goes to the floor while driving as if it has no pressure. The car doesnt rev up or suddenly accelerate when this happens. Its once in a while. Idling is fine, power is ok too. Any ideas?

Thought id check here as it maybe a diy before going to vw. No engine warning lights either.

Ps. Tried searching the forum with no luck.

Sounds like something is broken in the pedal asembly. Should be drive by wire. Go scrapyard hunting and swop the pedal out.

Def drive by whire.

I.o.w the pedal is connected to the throttle body electronically vya the ecu.
If its acting up just get a new one and have it fitted or diy. Think there is an adaption to do after fitment though.
