JETTA 2 1.8 carb issues

Car starts perfectly n idles but if u rev it it will switch off after it comes backdown the rev counter...also while driving it has a kickback before finally getting its power back an switches off when slowing down or stopping at stop streets or robots

It's a brand new carb that's fitted

Also noticed that when turning on the ignition just to the on position without cranking the engine the rev counter bounces a few times sometimes up to 4 thousand revs

Any ideas on what I'm dealing here with

your dizzy timing could be wrong as its overly retarded or i would also look at vacuum leaks, did you change your base plate when replacing the carb?is it an orginal carb or pirate?

Sounds like a spark issue rather than fuel
