Polo 9N3 1.9 SDI leaking coolant

Post by poloyolo »

do you have any idea where could this leak come from?
The coolant reservoir and connected pipes seem dry.

here is some info,
it started all of a sudden yesterday when the coolant light turned on, i had to put ~0.3L of coolant to top it out,
today, about 20 km later it lost it again to the level of warning light, so 0.3L again 20km later.
The 2nd timing belt kit with pump was replaced about 2000 km ago at 197 000km, but it started to leak suddenly yesterday.
Before that it would lose aproximately half a liter to a whole liter of coolant per year (12 000km) which also started to happen some time after 1st timing belt and water pump job at 90 000km 7 years ago, but i was kinda ok with that, now its the same amount per day.
i would not want to lead you into wrong track, but could it be badly mounted o ring for water pump?
im sure my mechanic would not admit that he did something wrong while doing the timing belt job
Or could it even be the connection to the cabin heating since the location of the leak is so far back ?

Any suggestions, what it might be and how to chec?
