Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and cannot find a similar topic for the subject problem.
My intention was to change the front crank seal on a polo after suspecting it leaking, kinda trial and error to fix continuous oil leaks having done a new sump and tappet cover. I took off the top cam cover and aligned the cam and crank to the respective positions. I removed the accessories belt and the bottom cover and pulley. After removing the oil seal housing I realised the seal I was sold was incorrect (I'll remember to check that before in future). I put everything back the way had opened them up with the same position settings on the crank and cam pulley. Now the car just swings but won't start.
Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks.

Well it's probably likely that you got the cam timing wrong.
