Audi 3.2FSI B7 clutch

Post by Memi »

Hello there, new to the forum.

I had mostly Audi’s for some years now and recently purchased a A4 3.2FSI Quattro (B7). Long story short, after no warning signs at all the clutch decides to let go yesterday. Had it towed to a mech, upon inspection the flywheel is still okay but clutch needs replacement, car only has 158000kms on it now.

I don’t mind spending 5/6k and get it done, but I have been told that the clutch for the particular vehicle is only available at the agents at a whopping price (still waiting for price confirmation). I have read before about moezak performance but they cannot help. Company in Randburg has clutch kits for A3 3.2 but they not sure if it the same?

Word around is we looking at close to R15k for a clutch kit from the stealers!

Any other options, contacts? A3 3.2 shouldn’t be Same no?

Thanks

Can't GW Delarey source the clutch kit for you?

No b7 is longitudinal and a3 is transverse. Not even the same engine and definitely not the same clutch. Yes try Gw delarey and see if they can't help you.

As panic has said, A3 and A4 are massively different but a Goldwagen should be able to supply a Luk or Sachs clutch kit, including flywheel. It is is ill advised to change just the clutch on DMF setups, so replace both the DMF and clutch. I had mine done on my B6 A4 a few years back for around R13k including labour.

Very often those kits are only available in a complete set that includes the flywheel which is why they are so expensive.

Ok stealers want:
R10800 for clutch kit
R21000 for flywheel

Wt!!! This puts this in my Landrover category for spares! I’d rather recon the clutch and wait till the car burns, honestly.

I tried everyone so far, none but agents can source the clutch Sachs, Luk etc cannot help.

Last time an Audi costed me this much was a 2.5TDi B6 Mutlitronic gearbox failure and I vowed never to buy another multitronic after that and never did.

This is insane, any contacts for scrapyards out there that might have a clutch? I called a few but none has broken a 3.2fsi

That is how I bought the kit for my B6 A4, besides a few bits and pieces Morne replaced while the gearbox was out.

Surely Graham at Goldwagen Jhb can source a clutch kit?
