Crossflow head on a short block?? Is it worth it?.

Post by Lo & Slo_Bunny »

Hi there guys. I want to do a sidies conversion on my car later this year. I know it can be done and it is still being done on u flow cylinder heads. But some people dont recommend it because of the heat from the exhaust and due to that i am planning on sourcing a crossflow head from the mk4 or the ABA head (i don't know if i can get an ABA head readily as the mk4 crossflow heads) and another reason i am planning to get a crossflow head is the neatness. My first question is...is it worth it to get a crossflow head compared to counterflow. Some guy i spoke to said a crossflow head runs hotter that a counter flow head and i will need an oil cooler if i use a crossflow head. Secondly what else will be needed to install a crossflow head on a short block.
