Hi Guys, havent been here in a while but im back few months back i posted about my oil light buzzing and flashing which i though was a sensor however lo and behold i rand 3 bearings and the oil pump was kinda stuffed, any ways engine was rebuilt and we were good to go..
2 months later my heater core valves broke which i bypassed and since then when the the fans come on the oil flashes but on on idle not when I'm driving.... seems to be flashing more consistently now in the past few weeks even the car is not up to temp... no unusual noises when idling in fact quite smooth and quiet....
car is running shell helix 20w50 red can but thinking of switching to 10w40 and replacing the oil pressure switches...
Anybody have this problem? Jetta is still driving very well after the rebuilt with minimal oil usage....

10w40 will give you LOWER pressure so not sure why you would change that.

Just an update, the oil switch on the side of the cylinder head was faulty, replaced it with an oem from vw and its all gone!
