1600 sub assembly

Post by Langes.Verwey »

Hi all, new guy here, I just want to hear comments about installing a 1.3 head on a 1.6 sub assembly, and if someone has done it before? Airflow would not be best due to smaller valves i reckon.. would apreciate any input.
Thanks in advance

valve are too small and the compression ratio will too high as it has a smaller chamber. why would you though. it's not like that head is hard to find?

If you feel like rebuilding a 1600 sub then I have a complete sub and head you can get cheap cheap. Has a bearing knock and we changed it for a whole new one.

Agree with Panic. 1.3 head isn't a good idea on a 1.6 sub. Quick way to get nowhere.

1.6 is fun and decent on fuel.

Do it.

Thanks for the replies, will have to save up for it though.. i only want extra power as to not downshift from 4th, and a 2liter might be too much as i don't want to swap out the gearbox.
