cluster change Heat gauge not working

Post by jelopymk1 »

Hi Guys
I replaced my old cluster ( one with Clock ) for the one with a rev counter. Now the heat gauge are not working. The red light keeps blinking and the needle is not picking up. it worked for about 3 times but not coming up all the way. Now NOTHING.

I had a similar issue with my Citigolf.

The guage worked sporadically, mostly not, but sometimes reading normal and other times half the normal reading before falling back to the far left. It did appear to work better if the car was parked out in the sun. The sender unit for the radiator fan was fortunately still performing as per normal.

I managed to source a used cluster and replaced the heat guage. Problem solved, but finding a used cluster with a working heat guage, that's the challenge. From what I have heard, these guages cannot be repaired either.
