Ok, thats in my town. Will find them.
Please keep us informed on how it goes and if u win withthe design and fit :hurray:
Ok, will do.
Other things kept me busy and this got left behind for a while.

AKA on the forum forwarded me the dimensions he has from the one he has, that was build by MRP Motorsport.

Will go to Hetdre for pricing after first week of November. Need this now as I don’t have enough airflow on cylinder no:1, due to top radiator hose right infront of no:1.

Drawing from AKA

Image

I got bored yesterday evening and made a dummy out of cardboard box to visualise the size of radiator. One side marked for dual pass and second for crossflow. Not the best pictures, but gives you an idea. Side tanks 60mm and core length 660mm and height 220mm and 50mm core thickness.

He-he!!!! Was going to reply and tell you to sitdown and brace yourself for a shocking price. You got the quoted price before I could reply.

Will let you know the price, I get quoted. Previous quote I got from a place in my neighbouring town were just over 5k.

Looking at the option to get a radiator or core that is the suitable length, cutting it down to the height I want and then have end tanks and pipe inlet/outlets welded on.

Panic mentioned the 540 BMW radiator being cut in half before.

Some guys recommended the radiator from a Ford Bantam as it is the desired core thickness and make end tanks on it, but it takes the full height available in the mk1. Cross flow throttles need direct airflow.

I know a guy who did some intercooler and alu pipes for ne about 15 years ago, he closed down his shop and do this now from his home. Need to try and find his home address to find out if he is still doing this.

Sent an email off to Meyerton Radiators enquiring if they can make one as per the dimensions mentioned above. I enquired about including a cowling on radiator also to accommodate 2 x 8” slimline fans.

Got a reply back now, yes they can and price is +_R4000 + Vat for one. Will go and speak to Dawie @ Meyerton Radiators once back in SA and get a fixed price after all the dimensions and pipe ends are confirmed on the correct places.

Not yet. Too many other things kept me occupied and more out of country than in country lately due to work.
