2007 Polo 9n Window and Locking Issue

Post by Deetz »

Howsit,

I have two separate problems.

ONE is when car Auto Locks at 20km ph, then the passenger Lock pops open immediately after locking, I will then press the manual lock button about 5 -10 times and it (The passenger Lock) will eventually stay locked. What can be causing this? Sometimes it locks noramlly?

TWO the Passenger window Stops and Winds down automatically when I close it. I can close it about 3 Quaters of the way, then it stops and opens on its own, I then have to wind it up half way and bit by bit close the window, if I do it bit by bit, then it closes and stays closed. It happens more when it rains, but does that most of the time, re gardless of the weather.

Can any one suggest possible solutions to this please?

ONE: Door lock and or sensor. Common issue on the 9n/9n3.

TWO:
The window mechanism is probably encountering resistance. I presume the 9n is the same as many other post-2000 cars, in that they have load sensors on the window winder motors. If the motor encounters too much resistance, the controller reverses the direction, to protect people's limbs from getting caught in the window. So, you would have to
... check that the window mechanism is properly aligned
... clean / lubricate the mechanism.

With regards to your window issue, it's almost always that the window guides are dirty which causes extra friction on the way up. Just spray silicone spray in the window guides and your glass should move nice and free.
