Weird Idle Polo 1.6 Bah motor 9n3

Post by Eighty6 »

Greetings

Need some help with the weird Idle my car has. I had the car scanned and it picked up an error code
P1137- Bank 1, Sensor 1 System too rich

The Car runs fine on the highway, it's just at stationery or idle that the idle dips from 900rpm to 400rpm almost to a switch off point. Especially if you Rev engine and leave the idle to drop.

When the car is cold the idle is perfect and stays constant. The problem happens once the car is warm. The exhaust starts to sputter slightly, backfire as well as a petrol smell.

I've changed the following:
Fuel filter with regulator
1st injector
Purge Valve
0xygen Sensor
Coolant temperature Sensor

Any thoughts what could be the problem?

No i didnt.... But i did take it for a compression test. They said its low compression in cylinder 3. The car runs fine when in motion,Just at idle it gets choppy. I will take it in a for a spray pattern test.
