K-Jet swirl pot set up on a ABF running ITB's

Post by Huzi022 »

Hi Guys,
need some guidance,ABF has starvation issues when cornering with under half a tank of Fuel.

i managed to get hold of a K-jet swirl pot set up.
is it worth fitting?
anyone done this before and can offer some guidance?

Currently Running ITB's with one of those mahle filters that has a single feed to the throttles and a return from the filter to the tank.
single pump set up currently with a gravity fed fuel tank.

any advice and help will be much appreciated.

thanks

caddy tanks are quite good to feed a pump. is your pump right at the outlet? same level?

:iagree:

Works just fine. There is a ring with a sieve filter inside the tank already and it help to prevent fuel sloshing around a bit. If you can mount pump slightly lower than tank outlet.

One thing to check is the thin breather pipe at the cap end, ensure that it is not blocked to prevent tank airlocks.

pump is at the same level, right next to the outlet, no restrictions at all and the filter sits at the front before the throttles.

Will check this out.

I read about the sieve and that is can get blocked up so the tank was pulled sieve removed and cleaned out, everything refitted problem still persists.
tried mounting the pump slightly lower to no avail. anything slightly under 50% in the tank and she splutters on hard rights unless completely off the throttle until you no longer cornering.

i even spoke to Sarel about it and he said that its not the first caddy hes come across doing it.
for some reason some do it and others dont :deadhorse:

You can get yourself an inline fuel filter (round metal type) or a small resevior of around 500ml in between the tank and pump to act as a swirl pot with fuel in to prevent the surge.
