Mk3 GTS raised lettering placement
Hi. Not sure that this is the right place, but here goes.
I am busy buying a 96 GTS. The previous owner had the car sprayed before I bought it and the panel shop bunched all the raised letters on the right side under the rear light cluster.
Is there a measurement list or layout available somewhere that I can use to place the letters correctly?
I know that "Golf" is on the left and "GTS" on the right, but I need the placement.
I would appreciate any leads or advice.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Mk3 GTS raised lettering placement
Find a parked one with the correct letter placement, take a ruler and take a pick with ruler to work out placing.

Re: Mk3 GTS raised lettering placement
Thanks Freezaburn. And the left side where the Golf name is? Is that similar. I thought the vertical lines on the lights somehow line up with the badges but looks like they don't.freezaburn wrote:This is for the GTI badge but should hopefully give you an idea. (Download and zoom in)

Re: Mk3 GTS raised lettering placement
The GOLF logo letter should be smack-bang-in-the middle of the 10mm x 220mm section underneath the light.
Are your letters each separated? I shall have a look and revert to you this evening...

Not sure as I only get the car this week. The panel shop stuck all the letters on the right side under the light cluster!

Re: Mk3 GTS raised lettering placement
Both the OEM logos came as a "single piece", so I suspect that they may have used after market.
