Fuel pump replacement on vw 2L 8v

Post by raveen21 »

Hello to all.My fuel pump on my citigolf is reading 2.8 bars fuel pressure when tested.
This is an aftermarket pump.
I was advised to put a 4 bar pump.
My question is how much l/ hour pump should i get.
My engine has a flowed head with 282 cam.

2.8bar before or after the fuel rail?

Could be a failed regulator or fuel rail also

Ok stop the bus.
A fuel pump, does notmdetermine pressure. A fuel pressure regulator does.
2.8 bar at idle with the vacuum hose plugged in is 100% correct.
If you unplug the vaccum hose it should pop up to 3 bar.
Then load it on the dyno or drive it under full load on the road and watch the pressure. It should stay at 3 bar throughnthenrev range with your foot flat.
Remember it is a rising rate regulator so it drops the fuel pressure when there is a vaccum in the manifold(which there is at idle)
