hi guys...
so after engine rebuild car was driving like a dream for 2 months... monday after work on my way home i heard a faint tik tik tik tik tik noise from cam side of the engine... after a while it got loud like slapping noise and the car died.... after inspection i found that cam is not turning, also distributor is standing still,
just need some idea on what could have broke... i know there is a key and keyway on the shaft and pulley... my gut tells me that could be the case of this problem.
but i could be wrong

Re: mk1 intermediate pulley
not sure how these are conected but there should be a small gear or something on crank it self that the belt is conected to?

Re: mk1 intermediate pulley
The crank pulley, intermediate shaft pulley and the cam pulley all have keys.
Could be that the crank pulley key sheared.
Only way to know is to strip the pulley off and check.
