ABF vs KR

Post by Mk1Crazee »

Hey peeps.

How do you tell the difference between an ABF 16V head vs a 16V KR head?

Simple question for simple answers.

In for a thread revival :troll:

Part number cast on head front above no 1 and 2 intake. 027 xxxxxx is KR and 051 xxxx is ABF. KR combustion chamber is flat around the spark plug hole area and ABF is slightly raised. KR cams have less valve lift and base circle does not have a full flat surface, only half. 027 stamped in on cam castings at the no4 cylinder end of the cams and internal cam gears have the longer teeth. Intake valves are the same size. ABF exhaust valves are 27mm and KR 28mm. On KR combustion chamber the sides where the exhaust valves are closest to the head surface, it is cut away for flow.
