Cyl head port and flow in Port Elizabeth

Post by jacquesdejager21 »

Hi guys,so i want to get my head flowed and i have phoned every engineering shop i can come across in SA.Last night while browesing the web i came to a very old post on xtremevdubs. There is a guy named Gideon here in PE that does headwork and by the look of things he knows what he is doing. He has been in the automotive engineering industry for 20years+.He has a flowbench and will provide me with before and after flowcharts. He does the heads in his spare time.So i am going to give him a go considering his pricing is not bad at all.Hope this is not going to be a "school fees" episodehead is going in next week sometime. Will update once i get the head back.He said it will take about a week

I spoke to a guy from 8v performance and he said the same thing so i wont bother with the bigger valves. Will start a ride thread(if i can figure out how)as the car is getting stripped to just the shell for body repairs and respray after i send the head in.

I'm just passed the 50% mark with my engine build. Good luck with the build bro ,it can be very painful at times but when you take her out and she does what she does it will all be worth it .

As soon as in can find a nice 2l bottom end il be making the next 50% count

Problem building n/a now and then going turbo is that eveyrthing is different. Waste of money twice. If you ultimately want turbo then build it just once.

So it would be better to slowley buy all the parts needed for turbo and then just go turbo?Because the way i understand is that after i get all the parts needed for turbo i can just drop my cr?

Are you just putting the n/a together or are you working on a strong N/a. Because for that you need cam, branches etc. long cam on turbo is basically not needed and you will chuck the branch. So a lot of that is waste.

Yes,just putting it together to run till i have all the parts needed for turbo.I am not looking to build a strong n/a motor.I have a std cam that i am going to use for the turbo build and i also have the turbo exh manifold. My current intake will be made into a plenum intake.Still need alot of parts to go turbo so that is why i am just going to run the n/a engine till i have all the parts
