Hi Guys,
Been searching the web and cant seem to come across any info.
The studs that hold the bottom bracket of the Rear Mount in place are on their way out.(these are the two attached to the body)
can these be replaced ?
i see that the front stud has some space above it (could it be pressed out and a new one pressed in?)
Where can i get the studs?
if possible how much of a mission is it to change them?
Any other options?
thanks.

Re: Caddy lower Gearbox mount Studs
I doubt this is going to be a quick fix.
I simply went to a scrap yard and had them cut that section of the floor out of a donor car for me. then took the car to a panel beater friend of mine
and they just replaced that whole floor portion.
This was on a mk1 though. but it should be very similar

i was thinking about using a die set and cutting new threads and using slightly smaller sized nuts with washers.
if that fails then i guess i will have to go the above route.

I've done that before on my old race car, lasted about a year but we do remove mounts often which I'm guessing you won't so give it a shot!Huzi022 wrote:Was hoping that there was another way.Donavan wrote:I doubt this is going to be a quick fix.
