Post by zlakay001 »

Hi all. I've had my car tuned a month ago and I have cold start problems and over fueling wen the car is cold but dissappear when the car is on operating temp. Motor has 282 estas cam and 57ml powerflow exhaust. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA

First and easiest thing to do is replace your temperature sender unit, it is about R120 at the spares shop. I had a similar problem on my previous velo mp9 system.. After replacing the temp sender the problem went away.

After the car was tuned, did you not have any issues with Cold start?

When winter kicked in, i had to add more petrol % on the Water temp Correction section of my map and yes i had a Temp sensor died on me.
The symptoms of a failed temp sensor were there even when the car was on operating temp, cold start was an issue too.

:iagree:

Cold start and temperature compensation on map is not set correct and needs to be trimmed.

Yep

Take it back to the tuner and get him to sort it out for you.

I know that with cold starting the car will need to sleep over night so that the tuner can test the cold start when the motor is cold.

Somehow the cold start was set. He told me it's the camshaft that makes that the car won't idle when it's cold. I am based in cpt

I suggest getting a new tuner......this guy is clearly avoiding the obvious issue.

I still don't get this. It was somehow set, but temp sensor faulty and replaced sensor and plugs and now idle without issues. How could the tuner set this then as he said the camshaft don't let it idle when cold?

Anyhow, glad it is sorted now.
