Hi Guys
I have a polo vivo 1.6 GT
96 000 km on the clock
autowerks branch
autowerks intake
and the car has a tune on it from a PE based tuner.
Serviced Regularly 15000km @ Tuners shop.
Soon after fitting the intake and a new file the car has developed a flat spot where it has no power for a short interval, doesn,t do it all the time but enough to annoy me. Happens only at full throttle around 4000rpm in 4th or 5th only. Feels like its starving of fuel? if thats possible.
Any assistance as to what it can be will be appreciated? Thanks
Polo Vivo Gt

Re: Polo Vivo Gt
Hi guys Senna and myself used vcds to scan for faults and found nothing..
Problem persists, it gives of a strong fuel smell on cold starts and also now gives off black smoke on start up.. also when cold. Nothing when warm.

Re: Polo Vivo Gt
Log the car using vcds. There are plenty YouTube videos showing how. Google Apr diagnostics. They have plenty info on what exactly to log. And from that you will be able to see what's going on during that flat spot.

Re: Polo Vivo Gt
Water temp sensor might only be 2 wire I know 1400 Vivo is, maybe the exhaust place must weld the lamda sensor closer to the outlet ports where the 4 pipes on the branch become one or try a mini/dummy cat extension. They are about R250

Re: Polo Vivo Gt
The car should be in an open loop at startup so the lambda sensor is not controlling anything.
Minicats/cat foolers or whatever u wanna call it, is only used when the car is throwing a cat efficiency code otherwise its pointless using it.
Test/replace the coolant temp sensor as panic said.
