Hyundai i10 - Which oil?
Hi Guys
I come in search of your help. Yes i know this is a dub forum but i have always found the most helpful answers here and therefore i come again seeking knowledge
I am servicing my i10, its a 2010 model with a 112 000kms and i would like to know from you guys which oil do you feel is best to use? I had previously used castrol magnatec 10w40 but two different guys at hyundai in Durban have given me two different answers on the oil i should use. One guy said i should be using 5w30 and the other said 15w40 so i am honestly lost.
Your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Hyundai i10 - Which oil?
I may be wrong but is a 5w oil not more suited to a cold climate compared to that of 10w? Im in Durban and our cold isn't that hectic compared to the other parts of the country

Re: Hyundai i10 - Which oil?
10w40 should do the trick... and stick to it. Don't swap and change oil grades.

Re: Hyundai i10 - Which oil?
According to both Liqui Moly and Motul thew car can use anywhere from a 5w30 to a 15w50.
I would personally use a 10w40, see links.

Re: Hyundai i10 - Which oil?
10w grade is usually semi , 5w is full synthetic.
Hyundai uses 5w40 with high milages throughout, usually you notice it as you start paying between service plan and 150000km
