Uk member - Citi 1.3 Chico Exhaust Help needed!!!

Can anyone help me???

Ive got a 1997 chico citi 1.3 and the exhaust back box is rotten and split

The original Part number on the exhaust is 17S 2536 10C, but im in the UK and no one knows anything about SA cars.

I was thinking a standard mk1 golf gti may fit but im not sure due to its 1.3 capacity and position of exhaust hanger etc etc

Does anyone know what aftermarket exhaust that may fit my car. Ie milltex Jetex, janspeed etc etc and could you give me the part number so i can see if they do the same aftermarket exhaust in the UK.

Why not just fit an aftermarket exhaust/box. To go through effort to get one your side would be heavy on the pocket

I doubt any or those big name shops will have an exhuast that fit that car. Unless they made something for a golf 1 LS that would possibly be the closest match. But surely there must be exhaust shops that can simply make up something for you that side.

My thought as well, the CitiGolf exhaust hanger points can't be that different to a MkI? Any exhaust shop should be able to use a generic back box for the car?

can you just drive to any exhaust shop and they fit a new box?
here in sa not many things are off the shelf..
exhaust is usually designed and fitted on the car, over the last few years we have had off the shelf stuff coming in

Jueshan you can literally drive to vw or bosal locally and they will fit an Oe as factory box for you. You will cry when they hand you the bill which is why most people just drive into an alternate speedy/quickfit or whatever and get something made at a 10th of the price.

Even is SA being 97 the original Bosal box is most probably discontinued.
