Morning guys,so i browsed tje web and came across a 2.0 16v aal motor for a okay price.The motor is already fitted with a "maak n plan" bmw fuel rail and mp9 injectors.He ran dictator on the setup so he has done all the work,i must just fit the motor in my car and get the spitronics fitted and mapped

Use the management your tuner recommends. Dependant on price on the AAL, it may be a good deal or not.
But that Cambelt I would change immediately just looking at the pic.

But it is a good thing the motor is running in a car that your can test. Not something you can do with an import

Once i get the motor it will be stripped,cleaned and get new ring,bearings,gaskets and seals and a good service.Motor will be sent off to engineering shop to check and make sure everything is still good,and will have them recon the head aswell so that i know once i fit the engine it hopefully wont give me any k*k

If it's running then it is a decent enough price. Abf is 18k these day

Sounds like a dodge deal to me, if you are going to see this engine yourself then yes go for it...I got hit down not so long ago from a guy in the Benoni area! Guy goes by the name Ian...

Morning all,ive been doing some more reading on the web..I see the guys fit the kr cams in the 9a/aal 2.0 16v motors..Does it really make that much of a difference?I am going to pick up the motor next week and found kr cams,dizzy+spare cap,intake and some other spares aswell for R1500

not much diffs. I would not bother. ABF cams yes sure.

You will loose torque with that intake. I doubt it's a direct bolt on.

No it can't mapped to 16 valves, but you can load the 1.8R map and install a UniQ to sort out the fine tuning
