How to replace rear apron on MK1 velociti

Post by Nevza »

Howsit all, I need help got rear ended on Sunday and I'm looking to have the rear apron replaced.

My worry is that when they weld the new piece on the heat its going to damage the paint work on the side rear fenders which will result in me having to paint the sides.

So my question is, is there any other way of welding the piece on that wont damage the paint on the sides?

Not sure what exactly you talking about, because my definition of a rear apron is this
Image

If you referring to the piece that is behind the bumper, on a velociti this extend all the way to the bootline. Either way for it to be done properly, the seams would need to be sealed and some form of blending of the surrounding panels would need to be done.

Do it right, the first time. Shouldn't be a problem if the panelbeater knows what he''s doing
