Polo vivo 1.4 timing gasket change help
Hi all
Just need advice my vivo developed a leak of sort more like its sweating by the timing gasket cover... so i want to strip it and see however i know theres a special tool to lock cams but do i still need to if im only going to clean and replace the gasket?

No won't need to just to remove covers.

You will need a counter hold tool for holding the crank pulley to remove the bolt.

The crank pulley has to be removed to be able to remove the cover.Imotions wrote:@BoraMad im only removing the timing cover to replace the gasket

- 2 x 750mm length angle iron(30mmx30mm)
- Bolt the end of the 2 lengths using bolt & nut
- At the opposite ends drill 8mm holes and use a 8mm x 50mm hex socket head bolts.
- Couple the hex bolts with nuts to make it adjustable.
Should look similar to this..

hi guys i have a tapping noise on my polo 1.4 2015 model.. i assume its hydrolics. it hard to assume which tappet making noise. will i need a tinming tool. to reset timming are there full videos where i can view . when removing tappet cover an replacing hydrolic tappets resetting cams closing up.
