Mk1 Cabriolet 1982 squealing when driving

Hello guys!

New here. I just bought a 1982 Mk1 Golf Cabriolet in lightening orange a few days ago. Absolute beauty, but came with a fair share of issues.

One which I'm struggling with quite badly is a squealing sound that gets louder the faster I drive. We've replaced bearings, brakes and Cv joints without any luck.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks for your help

Squealing? Since u checked wheel bearings im guessing the sound is coming from the wheels.. Check wheel alignment?

+1, as the rubber seals get hard with age the tend to shrink, or you have a small tear some where, either could let air into the cabin.

At this stage, I would think they're import only?

Surely a poorly sealed cabriolet top wouldn't lead to a squealing noise?
