2007 VW Polo Classic 1.6 16v BTS Engine (Auto) Help Please

Good Day

My dad owns a 2007 VW Polo Classic 1.6 16v BTS Engine (automatic).

They tried to steal his vehicle yesterday. They some how got the vehicle open and were in the process of changing the computer box (assuming because when he went back to his car the car was opened with the computer box stolen - they really put the computer box in a stupid place.)

I called vw and they want R16 188,00 for the new computer box and R850 per hour of labour. Which is kind of ridiculous.

I cant seem to find a second hand computer box because everywhere i called they said they dont have a computer box for that car due to it being automatic.

My question is, will we be able to fit an aftermarket ecu (i.e. powermod, dicktator) to the vehicle. Will it work with and automatic gearbox?

Any ideas?

And i forgot to mention that the gearbox has:
- D (drive mode - normal)
- S (sports mode)
- it also has a trip-tonic gear change feature.

I am not sure where you searched as i see that you are in DBN.
You might need to widen your search to PTA, JHB & CPT scrappies.

Unlikely that aftermarket will work with the gearbox.
Try this guy trevor green, 083 3095033. He is in pta but can always post if he can get one.
Also try bishops or fourspring scrapyards in edenvale..

I can't recall if the BTS ran a marelli ecu
If it did you can look for a 1.6 vivo auto ecu and get someone to help with the coding
