36-1 problems

Ok so i decided to help a friend with management but the problem is that it is dicktator that came from my vw and it is going into a inline twin 1000cc motorcycle. So i got it fitted and wired up started up but kept on back and front firing and decided to count the teeth on the trigger wheel and find that it ran a 35-1 system but the last tooth is double. My q is would it cause dicktator to backfire like that? Here is the photo of the trigger wheel note that the one teeth is double


I am going to machine another teeth in but would that tooth cause the misfire. Thanx in advance

Is the Dicktator firmware correct for a 36-1 trigger input? What did you have in your vw?

60-2 but according to the dicktator website the multi tooth is able to run both

As far as I know Dicktator makes a specific 36-1 ECU. They can reconfigure the 60-2 to work on the 36-1 setup but that will require a firmware upgrade.

Besides the possible firmware whatever dictator issues somebody screwed up making that trigger wheel or it was made for a very specific ecu.
Any normal 36-1 is going to have an issue with that trigger wheel. And you can't cut the last tooth out because that is then 36-2.
