If you can manage to start it, take it to any battery centre, super quick, Hi Q, they will test your battery for you. Once tested they will give you a printout and if it needs to be replaced, for a citi 646 battery, bank on around R750 to R850, there was also a battery for sale at R550, just search for that.

didnt know 2007 Citi golfs came out with a kickstarter?

sounds like a possible key coding issue or battery problem.

Swings and the clock and odo digits that are displayed fade. i can hear the fuel pump prime when i turn the key to the on position. The battery is due for replacement anyway looks abit worse for wear. can you get a battery recharged? or serviced ?

I agree....new battery is required, and with the coming winter and cold mornings, an already dodgy battery is just going to give you more grief.

however.....I would also look at the charging rate/alternator..as a car that has just been driven should have enough "oomph" in it to start again, it would normally take a little longer for a battery to lose its charge....unless the battery has a dead cell or two already.

anybody with a "Avo-Meter" could check your charging rate....normally around the 12.8v to 13.4v depending on electrical equipment switched on using power.
