Hi guys
How much power do you lose on an automatic box.
I have an idea why you lose it due to the torque converter etc.
My 1.6 MK2 is a lot faster than my 1.6 MK1.
That automatic really shiits itself everytime there is an uphill

I'll have your ass at highway speed though! That 1,5 is a bit pap for your 5th gear.
But yes marz, the auto is **** slow as hell. Try hold it in 1st a little longer if you are hitting an uphill. When it shifts early into 2nd you've had it coz it never really kicks down back into 1st.

Re: Power loss on Auto
Well general rule of thumb for a manual box is 15% drivetrain lossesmarzbars wrote:Hi guys

for an old auto slushbox I would say easily 25-30%
