Car needs a service: Some advice on parts, please?

Post by Tander »

Howzit guys,

So, the Polo needs a service this month. I recently changed the cam-belt and water pump, with tentioner, so those items are good.

Also, I changed the polin filter not too long ago, with fuel filter.

How often do these parts need to be changed?

Nic - don't come here with your RFTM stories, I don't have one with me at the moment,

Lastly - regarding spark plugs - which ones should I get? someone said I should get ones that have more than one ignition point per plug??

Do those make any difference?

Current Rides:
2008 SEAT Leon Cupra - Banshee

Exes:
2006 Polo 9N3 - 1.6i
2003 Citi.com 1.3
2003 Opel Corsa Lite

RTF, ag, never mind...

Based on what you have said, just change the oil, oil filter, air filter and spark plugs. And just get normal spark plugs, those multi point plugs will do nothing extra...

Does the brand of the plugs matter that much?

I don't think so on a non-performance motor but the easiest thing to do is to go to a Goldwagen and ask them for the parts you need for your car. They are generally knowledgeable and will give you the right parts...
