spark problem

Hi guys I have a golf 1 1.8 carb, I have a spark problem, I have noo spark, I replaced the coil and modul, and stil nothing it all started after a wire burnt it went to my ignition and to the postitive wire on the coil,so I looked for other burnt wires and that was the only one so I took it out and ran new one now it has no spark
Any help or ideas what it could be

Check if there is 12v + at the coil if jot it might be the hall generator in the distributor and if it's not that then perhaps check the ignition switch a burnt wire could have burnt a circuit in the fuse box too.

You need to test for power in all the places.
