Then I noticed that the hazards and Instrument cluster fuses were blown and had them replaced...

Hazards and cluster now working but Rev counter and central locking still not working
Sorry to hear bud, I was sure it was one of those fuses. Hope you get it sorted soon. :hi:

I have exactly the same issue with my sons Citi.com 1.4i. No turn signals, rev counter not working, oil pressure light comes on and fuel gauge is erratic up and down. Was a solution found for this issue?

Did anyone eventually determine the cause of the fault as described in this thread. My sons car 2005 1.40i Citi.com presented with the exact same set of faults in March 2018
1. Turn signals not working
2. Alarm/central locking not working
3. Rev counter not working
4. Oil buzzer alarm goes off
5. Rough idling.
6. engine flat spots when accellerating thru the rev range.

A local auto shop has quoted just on R6000 and required a R5500 upfront payment! citing that the "computer box" must be replaced? Sounds like a scam to me?

These things are not simple to comment on on a forum. You need to ba able to do some basic testing. But if you don't trust them take the car somewhe else. It could be the boarnetz box.
You also give no detial of the year model neither where you are so that maybe one can point you at a decent auto electrician etc.
so with tons of helpfull data missing you want an clear answer.

Check the big white fuse in the engine bay next to the batteyr. I had the same issue, I took the fuse out, cleaned the contact points and it solved the issue
Yip I still got my 1.4 Citi
