It has been done before i know it but looking at doing it myself.
need some input tho'
which ITB's to use?
runners are different lengths however should the intake that is being made be the same length and trumpets adjusted for the runners since a vr6 head is designed in such a way that the intake ports is different lengths to the combustion chamber. Need some help with getting this right. Uncle Rowley will help make the intake for me (rowlnad stanton) unless you can suggest someone else who can do it.
what is the highest .cr i can run reliably?
im running the metal HG to up .cr and will be shaving a few mm off the head also to help but would like to run with normal fuel as well.
which management system would be appropriate knowing i'll be running NAWS as well?
what size injectors will do? 440cc?
what other upgrades would help? im getting the power pulley kit from Paul at Gruvenparts as well and lightening the flywheel ever so slightly (2.1kg).
this will not be a daily driver but i would also like to use the car for daily driving if need be..
all help is appreciated.

You could use toyota 20v throttle bodies with the 42mm or 45mm options. The runner length compensation you can use different length trumpets on 3 cylinders.

10.5:1 is highest CR you will get with std pistons and the mls VR6 head gasket. To get higher you will have to change to high comp forged pistons. 11:1 on pump fuel is possible while 13:1 you will have to run race fuel or ethanol.
which management system would be appropriate knowing i'll be running NAWS as well?
Any of the popular systems can run the VR on TPS.
what size injectors will do? 440cc?
Should be plenty, can also use 330cc from the Mazda FE 2l 16v. my old n/a BV engine ran 550cc rotary injectors. stock is around 190/200cc.

good set of cams, 268 or hotter.

busy negotiating on a set of 276 cams from the UK, but the price is a little too much for me.

Re: VR6 on ITB's
Does the length not need to be equal from the butterfly? Will the different lenght trumpts be able to effectively compensate?

Re: VR6 on ITB's
By running it exactly the same length from the butterfly you would need two sets of linkages, as i have read up last night, hence most go with the trumpet lengths..Nerville wrote:Does the length not need to be equal from the butterfly? also this does not make good power, just awesome noise.
