FREAKY Mk2 WIRING PROBLEM

Post by Raylin »

I have a major wiring problem on my mk2 gti. Firstly, when I press my brake, the left rear indicator lights up as well as the right-side fender indicator and the right-side front park light. That problem has been going on for a while now.

Recently, pressing the brake also activates the ignition (dash lights up and fuel pump starts running, as if the key is turned to on position).

Even more recent, when I press the alarm button to lock/unlock the car, I also hear the fuel pump running for a short while.

Does anyone know what's wrong with my car? Any help would be appreciated...otherwise I think I'd have to get a priest to perform an exorcism on her...

Sounds like your issues are in the fusebox area. Have a look at the grounds behind the dash as well as check the wiring for fraying.

eish hahaha, funky wiring seems to be the Mk2 strong point!!! I have a phantom oil pressure buzzer and light issue, when the weather changes and it is not an oil pressure issue :)
I'm literally can't evening!
