8v head 4 cam cap vs 5 cam cap
can anyone please tell me why the one is better than the other? found one of these heads with 4 cam caps on an engine a friend gave to me. Im thinking of getting some headwork done but want to find out if i should rather get the head with 5 cam caps.

Re: 8v head 4 cam cap vs 5 cam cap
No difference really. One has 5 cam caps and the other has 4. Might be minor differences in valve sizes, depending on what heads they are, but that's about it really. Unless it is a 1.4 head that has much smaller valves, combustion chamber and ports compared to the 1.6 head (1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 8V heads are the same).
And unless it is a crossflow head, then the inlet and exhaust ports sit on opposites sides.

Re: 8v head 4 cam cap vs 5 cam cap
thanks for the info, 40/33mm is the valve sizes. so there is no reason why i should not use this head for further mods? as far as i can figure out this head came off a AGG motorJetta2 wrote:No difference really.
